Huntsville, Ontario is a vibrant community of over 18,000 people in Canada's favorite cottage region: Muskoka. This website seeks to connect users with the many fine businesses and community organizations in the area.
History
Huntsville was founded in the 1800s by Captain George Hunt. At a later point, a rail link made it an important destination for travellers. Ferrys shuffled inhabitants and tourists around Huntsvilles many Lakes and rivers.
Today Huntsville has become a vital part of Muskoka's largely tourist based economy. In 2008, it was announced that Huntsville would host the 2010 G8 summit, possibly placing Huntsville in the spectrum of world events.
